Wooden Pie Server Carved from A Hardwood Branch |
These pie servers are carved from carved from the wood of of maple, cherry, or plum trees pruned and harvested on my home on Maury Island in Puget Sound, Washington. My handcrafted wooden pie servers are ideal for pies, cakes, or pizza. Although these pie servers are intended to be used in the kitchen, with their beautiful grains, they are also suitable to be displayed as objects of art. They measure about ten inches long. |

I recommend a quick rinse with warm water and wipe with a paper towel after use. My wooden utensils come with a natural oil finish, but if you choose to wash your wooden utensils in hot water, they may become dried-out and rough. I am frequently asked what to use when this occurs. First you may want to sand out the roughness with fine sandpaper or steel wool. One of the best finishes I have found for use on wooden utensils is Badger Unscented Balm. The ingredients are organic extra virgin olive oil, castor oil, and beeswax, so it is completely safe for use on wooden utensils. Badger Balm can be found here, or at most drug and grocery outlets in the U.S. and Canada. |
